VistaCare Communications is a leading telecommunications solutions provider for a wide range of businesses and organizations. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to join our National telecommunication construction operations in a permanent, full-time role as the OSP Construction Field Manager for positions across Canada, all candidates may or may not require relocation. The OSP Construction Field Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the assigned construction sector of VistaCare Communications and its employees.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Manage all construction crews deployed in the assigned area
  • Collects and reviews timesheets for all line construction employees and monitor daily progress
  • Organizes work schedules, lodging, vacations, vehicle repairs and per diems as needed
  • Completes jobsite inspections, and ensures that all company safety policies and procedures are being followed and that all required paperwork is completed and submitted on time
  • Scoping the work to look for safety concerns making necessary fixes to engineering and/or applying for appropriate change requests as needed
  • Responds to safety incidents and/or inquiries from workers in a timely manner
  • Investigation of incidents, both safety and non-safety related
  • Manage fleet and material stocking
  • Manage all assigned project scoping
  • Responsible for ensuring that their projects are completed on time and on budget, escalating any concerns or issues that may affect these deadlines
  • Cable management in the yard
  • Provide civil access quoting
  • Engage in the development of Line Technicians
Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Ability to manage people and direct a workforce
  • Knowledge of common safety practices and requirements in a construction environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Expert knowledge of outside plant construction,
  • Exceptional decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure
Experience Required: 
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience working in outside plant construction
  • Experience managing customer expectations and deliverables
Additional Requirements: 
  • Valid driver’s license and reasonable driver abstract
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on emergency call outs as required
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal record check
